How CDI Helped in High School:

“CDI quickly became my support system and then they became my family. CDI was always there for me. They were my older sibling, my second parent. They were just always there.”

On Succeeding in College:

“The one thing I didn’t realize I would need in college is someone to be there to listen to me. After my freshman year, my financial aid decreased and I was not going to be able to afford to attend Goucher. CDI was there for me throughout. They took me through the financial aid appeal process, they simply wouldn’t let me go through it on my own. They kept my head in the right place.”

Why CDI is Special:

“With CDI it’s not just about my academics and it’s not just about financial aid— it’s about me as a person. It’s about making sure I’m mentally and physically well. That’s what makes this organization so different and what has impacted my life so much. They are constantly pushing you, and constantly there to pick you up.”

A Lasting Connection:

“I am so grateful. If it wasn’t for CDI, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am proud to be a part of CDI. I am proud to know that there’s an organization out there that has my back. It’s inspired me to have the same impact when I begin my career and influenced my decision to attend law school. I want to impact people the same way I’ve been impacted.”

What’s Next After College:

Beteley is currently attending the University of Baltimore School of Law and works as a legal intern at the Network for Victim Recovery D.C.
